Stone is great. Freight took longer than I told my client.

GC. Material itself is solid — no chips, polish matched the sample we held on site. We sat almost three weeks after the container hit Houston waiting on the last truck. Not a disaster, but I burned a buffer I didn’t have. Flag that earlier next time and it’s five stars.

Houston desk

Tom — fair note. Inland slots after Houston are the bottleneck; we’ll put the truck window on the quote so you’re not guessing with the client.

Emperador Dark

Rich brown. Watch the fill.

Emperador on a powder and a fireplace hearth. Color is gorgeous — that deep brown with the white web. A few filled pits showed under raking light on the hearth. We honed it and they calmed down. I’d still pick it, just budget a little shop time.

Movement is real — order a spare

Dining table program plus a small lobby feature. The gold vein is actual stone, not that printed quartz look. Client loved it. We dry-laid in the shop and only remade one panel. I should have bought one extra slab for repairs. That’s on me. Lot was tight.

Coastal Gray

Nice grey. A bit cooler in person.

Used it in a Lincoln Park kitchen. Photos online looked a touch warmer than what showed up. Not a dealbreaker — still a calm floor — but if you’re matching cabinets, look at the actual slab photos, not the hero shot. Desk did send those when I asked.

Star Galaxy

Granite kitchen, gold flecks and all

Client asked for “that sparkly black granite from the 90s but nicer.” Star Galaxy is basically that, and they were thrilled. Heavy, so watch the cabinets. One corner chipped on unload — we had enough extra to recut. Stone is what it is. Honest lot.
