Mills & production
How mill partners are notified today — and what is not a login.
What the numbers mark
- Mark in work & send — emails mill/ops
- Paid file — next step is mill or container
Admin
Give work to a mill
There is no mill login, Accept job, or production board. Email is the handoff. Do not look for those buttons on Partner Desk — Accept quote there is the buying partner.
- Usual path: partner accepted, deposit is paid, then Admin → Shop → Orders → the
SG-…file → card In work & partner emails. - Operations email — StoneGate inbox (default
STONEGATE_OPS_EMAIL). - Partner / mill email — factory contact. Pre-filled from the company email if present. Change it to the mill if the company email is the buyer.
- Optional note (included in the brief). Leave Email customer and Email operations & partner checked.
- Mark in work & send. Shop status becomes
processing.in_work_atis stamped. That is “the mill has the job”. - Optional earlier: the same card exists on an RFQ (Trade → RFQs) if you need mill input before quoting. That does not create an order and does not replace the order Mark in work after the deposit.
If the flash says “No ops emails sent — check addresses”, the stamp still happened. Fix Mail SMTP and the addresses, send again from the same card.
There is no mill portal today
StoneGate does not ship a supplier login, production status board, or factory Accept / Reject. Production companies are not partners in the Partner Desk sense. Partner Desk is for the buying company. Do not create a Partner Access application for a mill expecting them to “accept the job” there — Accept quote on the desk is the buyer taking the price.
Optional earlier brief: the same In work card exists on an RFQ (Trade → RFQs) if you need mill input before quoting. That emails a spec, does not create SG-…, does not reserve like Send quote, and does not replace the order Mark in work after the deposit.
What the mill is asked to do (email)
- The mill receives a StoneGate Operations brief: customer, material, quantity, notes, order number, optional admin note. There is no “Accept job” link in that email that logs them into StoneGate.
- They confirm production with the StoneGate trade desk off-platform (phone, email, WhatsApp — whatever the commercial agreement uses).
- StoneGate records progress in admin: shop Order Status on the file, then Trade → Containers / Shipments. The buying partner sees those stamps on the order timeline. The mill never logs in to advance them.
- Wrong mill address: open the same In work card, correct Partner / mill email, send again. SMTP must work. The stamp
in_work_atdoes not reset; the second send is another brief. - Silence is not a status. Chase the email. If the lot should die: Shop → Orders → Cancel trade order (inventory + Tokens unwind; card refunds stay in the gateway).
Not built — on purpose for now
A mill workspace with Accept / Reject / Production started / QC / Ready for shipment would be a new role. It is not hidden; it does not exist. Until it does, treat the ops email as the mill’s inbox and keep the file moving in Admin → Orders and Trade → Shipments.
